TSH Receptor Antibodies

ThyroidThyroidBlood

Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) receptor antibodies, or TRAb, are an antibody that can be associated with Graves' disease. Thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin, or TSI, is a specific type of TRAb.

Why it matters: Testing positive for TRAb alongside a low TSH result likely means Graves' disease is present, and most people with Graves' disease have raised TRAb. In rare cases a negative TRAb result can occur in someone who still has Graves' disease.
